2025
Blaenau Gwent Council Food Festival
Having witnessed the success of Merthyr Food Festivals, Polly was invited to create a Food Festival to bring visitors to the town, highlighting local culinary businesses. Polly has liaised with over 40 exhibitors and 1000 visitors to design a model which is easy to replicate in other communities.
2005-2024
Cowbridge Food and Drink Festival
For almost 20 years Polly was chief organiser of one of south Wales’s largest Food Festivals, growing it from a one day festival at the local farmer’s market to a two day, multiple site, family event of 150 applicants, 100 exhibitors, a full schedule of demos and tastings, musicians and performers attracting over 10,000 visitors over the weekend. Polly managed the event liaising with a team of 70 people including the committee and a bank of lovely volunteers, eventually taking a more advisory role. What Polly did best was overseeing the entire process including selling a balanced stall selection and full weekend of entertainment but what she loved best was working with the brilliant team and coordinating all the moving parts making changes each year to create a hugely successful seamless event for the town.
2014 to present
Merthyr Food Festival
The Big Heart of Merthyr Tydfil had seen what Cowbridge were doing and wanted the same for their town. Polly built the entire infrastructure of 40+ stalls with all exhibitors in place before the 8am road block! Using her extensive contacts she managed the event, all communication, invoicing, planning and logistics. By 2022 the event had secured around 5,000 visitors annually leaving “nothing but footprints” and Polly was invited to launch the Merthyr Chilli and Chocolate Festival which, as with all good chilli festivals, includes the obligatory chilli eating contest!
Annually 2011 to present
The Lord's Taverners Charity
Since 2011 Polly has supported this great charity with their Annual Christmas Lunch. Over three separate lunches 750 guests attend raising tens of thousands of pounds each year. Polly markets and sells tables, manages the programme, stage manages and designs the event and works with performers and providers.
